There are now certain applications that reside on the Internet and are available to you no matter where you are. One of those is the well known Peachtree accounting package. The web based product will offer more features than the retail version and is always updated and backed up. This also would solve all of your worries about others seeing your data. For a single user it is only $10 per month. This is an excellent way for a new doctor to start using a top line accounting program, accessible from home or the office, with very little start-up cost. * * * * * * * * * * When re-billing insurance companies for services that were skipped on an EOB, remember to only bill for the non-paid services. This is a common ploy by the insurance companies to delay your payment. If you bill the entire claim again, many times they will just reject it as a duplicate claim. Even if you write "Second Billing" on it or highlight the unpaid services, it may still be rejected. If you only bill the skipped services, it cannot be rejected as a duplicate claim. * * * * * * * * * * When purchasing equipment on a lease, there is much more to consider than just the total of the monthly payments. Try this, figure out the interest you could earn on a deposit of the full cost of the equipment for the term of the lease. Then figure the tax benefits of deducting the full cost of the lease on a monthly basis. Consult a knowledgeable tax adviser for your own circumstances and if that is possible. Then total the cost of all payments, origination fees and the end of lease buy out, then deduct the interest and tax benefits to arrive at your true bottom line lease cost. Different lease companies use different formulas for approving clients for funding. If you've been turned down for any amount, up to and including $10,000,000 for practice, software or equipment purchase, working capital, or whatever, just contact us and let our financial partners help you get the money you need. * * * * * * * * * * Many people use America On Line (AOL) because they don't really understand that all the features they have available on that service are available with any browser and any Internet access. Go to any of the search engines like Yahoo.com or Excite.com and look for the link for "Make this your start page". This will allow you to choose for yourself the way the first page you load when accessing the Internet will look each time you go on line. There are selections for types of news stories you can display, stock quotes or a constantly updated stock portfolio printout, and many other features. I use Yahoo as my start page and I even have customized searches saved so each Monday I can go in and search for all the news stories that have been important to me in the last week. This one feature allows me to drastically reduce the amount of time I spend keeping up with the news I want to know about. * * * * * * * * * *
