For all of those of you out there wondering about when Version 8 will be released, here is the latest news! We have a Pre-Release version available now! We have very specific hardware requirements and you must have Internet access. Not all features are completed and we are accepting additional Beta sites to help us improve the current release. It has not caused any major problems. New clients can purchase Version 8 now. There will be a printed manual and tutorials for Version 8 sometime soon. When classes are scheduled by HNA, they will contact you and give you locations and times. The cost for this class will be a minimal charge per person to cover the cost of materials and employee time. Yes, it is that different! Version 8 will be all I will cover at my next class at the FCA convention.

For a sneak peek at the new version screens either Click Here or go to the links page and try the new demo for yourself.

Remember to keep an eye on how your staff is doing and how your practice is working as well by running the "Patient List" and marking "Include Account Balance". Monitor the amounts and the negative balances to see where mistakes are being made and if payments are being properly posted.

To prevent loss you need to do more than just watch your account audit log to see what is being deleted. Always run the report "List Bills by Date" on the screen when you do your weekly or daily billing for the same time span as you billed for. This will give you a number on the screen that should be the total of the bills that were just generated. It will be broken down as to the electronic/paper claims and the average claim amount will be shown as well. Compare this number to the services for the same time span and see if you are billing everything you should be.

Always look at the "Current Daysheet" and check for backdated services. If any appear, reprint a "Previous Daysheet" for that day to update your records. Compare the numbers on the original "Current Daysheet" and the reprinted one and make sure they properly reflect the changes made to that date. Check the audit log for any discrepancies. Always look at the "Deposit Slip" also and verify the numbers match your actual deposit. If they don't, please don't be alarmed, just call the support line and let them see if you have a problem or not.

Always run a "Yearly Statistic" from the "View/Print Stats" menu at the end of each month to show you the yearly numbers. Compare these numbers with the prior reports numbers for the same months. They may go up slightly, but should never go down.

Glance at the "Audit Log" occasionally and verify all entries are in proper date sequence. Any entries out of date sequence should be addressed to the individual responsible. They indicate someone back-dated the software and deleted something in a way they should not have.

If you monitor these items on a regular basis you should be able to see any actions that are not in your best interest. If you have any questions call us and we will help you determine if you need further help.
